I love hosting parties, does not matter what they are for I enjoy the whole process of planning events and adding those special little touches.  I recently hosted a bridal shower for my cousin, Stephanie.

I based the shower off of her wedding colors, yellow and jade.  I ordered her shower invites off of Shutterfly and found colors as close as possible to tie everything together.

Wedding invite

I used her wedding colors of yellow and jade for her invitation.

I enjoy doing a interactive component to parties, so for Stephanie’s shower I did a make your own Bloody Mary Bar.  I included an appetizer plate so guests can load up on cheeses, salami, shrimp and so much more. Little tip, make sure to always have your shrimp on ice, it tastes better cold and you don’t want anyone to get sick.

I spoke with her soon to be husband, Beau, before the shower and asked him to send me the reasons he loves Stephanie, which he sent the sweetest reasons.  I then bought frames, and spray painted them in Steph’s colors.  The quotes went into the frames and I placed them in spots throughout the party for guests to read and to surprise Stephanie.  She then got to keep all the frames and quotes, which she could even incorporate into her wedding décor if she wanted to.

I focused my attention on food, which means I ordered in dessert.  I did cupcakes in lots of different flavors from the wonderful A Little Bit of Cake

For lunch I served a make your own sandwich bar and then there was a fruit salad, potato casserole and garden salad for sides.

I bought some really cool jars at Michaels that were on clearance and ordered some fresh stems from My Viola in yellow spider mums, yellow roses, and baby’s breath and placed them throughout the party for a little extra decoration.
